The Badgers get runs the unconventional way and grind out a win on Saturday morning.
The offense was not the highlight of the day for the Badger group. They only record two hits but get runs in the 1st and 4th on great base running reads.
In the 1st Jack Jacobs reached on an error, stole second and moved to 3rd on a single by Brian Brent. Brent then stole 2nd and in the play Jacobs scored on a throw to get the runner. Then in the 4th it was Jake Brown’s turn to generate a run. He did it all himself here by leading off with a double, then stealing 3rd and scoring on a ball thrown into left by the Cuyahoga hts catcher.
Max Janssen gets his 1st big league win in the mound for the badgers. He went five innings giving up five hits and fanned six batters.
Brian Brent pitched one inning in relief giving up one hit and the lone run. JT Bergmeier recorded the save striking out two of three batters he faced in the 7th.
Badgers move to 12-5 and will be back in action Monday as the Huskies come to town.
