Berkshire stayed in it until the end, but West Geauga pulled away late in a 5-3 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at two with West Geauga batting in the bottom of the fifth when Williams singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Berkshire got things started in the second inning when Angie Romano drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the fourth inning, West Geauga tied things up at two. Romano threw a wild pitch allowing one run across the plate for West Geauga.
Williams earned the win for West Geauga. Williams went four innings, allowing two runs on one hit and striking out two. Ottman threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen. Ottman recorded the last nine outs to earn the save for West Geauga.
Romano took the loss for Berkshire. Romano went six innings, allowing five runs on four hits and striking out four.
Cam Leggett, Maddy Triskett, Romano, and Courtney Czekaj each collected one hit to lead Berkshire.
